1-Lighting And The Effect On The Audience:
In order to create a good shot applying the lighting is very important. To create the warm lighting in the shot i closed all the curtains and turned off the lights and changed the bulb in the light to cretae the dull orange effect. This gives out a warm lighting which then reflects on the representation of the artist. The warm lighting suggests that she is a weaker person looking for sympathy, it makes her appeal as a quiet soft person rather than a harsh person that just stands out. I did this purposely because she needed to be represented as a small quiet person in order to contrast with her ex-boyfriend who choses to ignore her in every situation. The warm lighting provides sympathy to the character which then reflects on the audience and emphasis her representation of a small helpless girl who is losing a fiight to the one she loves which then makes them feel sympathy for her putting the audience on her side. The audience want to feel a part of the artist and by applying the correct stylistics they can embrace her emotions and feel part of the story/narrative. The dark lighting contrasts with other scene such as the opening scene and scene 3 this is done purposely to create a affect on the audience; in the opening scene you see the two when they are together in brighter lighting showing how they were happy and everything was perfect then you cut to the chorus where she is without him and not accepted therefore the lighting in darker, then in scene three you see her ripping apart a photograph of him the lighting is brighter as she has become a stronger person feeling happier that she is free from his games. The lighting continues to do this throughout the video implying how she is back and forth and stuck in her emotions.
2-Mise-En-Scene And The Effect:
Mise-En-Scene is an important part to any media element. The mise-en-scene send messages to the audience in order for them to be able to read the text and the representation of the artist. For example if the artist was wearing a track-suit it would signal different messages to the audience they would expect a more up beat rap soundtrack to match. The costume signifis that she is at school and how she feels out of place compared to the others. This is clearly stated in the video from when she looks around for a seat and she can't find anywhere to sit. This highlights that she is not accepted without her ex boyfriend the lighting compliments this idea which again emphasis the idea that she is in a weaker position against her boyfriend and the audience take her side and feel sympathy for her. The school uniform also connotes how she was young and naive when she fell in love; it connotes how she thought he was her everything but he turned out to be lieing. The lighting is warming therefore gives out red tones but the curtains also have red roses on them siginifying love along with the roses the rest of the room is green which argues that she is sick of falling in love. This is an important setting relating. I caught the sun just as it was going down so that i could capture the warm lighting i wanted. The warm lighting represents how she is a warming person the woods is a conventional setting for findind the innocent; it also emphasis that the person is alone which connotes how the artist is feeling. I chose this specific costume because it was red and red connotes love and heartache it also has little yellow flowers on which can connote the idea of happiness but it also reflects on the representation of innocence.
Here are images taken from my different sets. Image 1 is where i filmed the scene inside a school and image 2 is an image of the actress going through the words on her docking station. It was an important process because we needed to be sure she knew every word perfectly so that i could get the lip syncing right. The other images are part of verse two, the images show the locations of filming and the effort that was made to create the perfect set up.

Costumes That Have Been Used.
I chose to work with the school uniform because it created the right representation. I wanted the artist to come across as the innocence and a school girl reflected this idea correctly. The idea was that when she was in the relationship she was young and naive and that he knew this but took advantage of her. The idea that she is at school makes her appear as younger and weaker than she is when she’s older which we see at the end of the song. In the beginning she is speaking of happier times then she becomes stressed and upset with the breakdown whereas at the end of the song we see her as a better stronger person as she burns all her memories of the past. The cinematography also reflects this idea at the beginning of the song it is mostly long shots and medium shots very few close ups which shows her as a smaller weaker person whereas at the end a lot of close ups are used she dominates the frame which shows she is a stronger person and is not afraid to show her emotion.
I chose this dress for scene two that is set outside. I firstly chose this because i thought that it worked well with the surroundings. The flowery pattern worked with the natural surroundings and also interpreted the correct representation that I wanted to create. With Taylor Swift (actual artist) she is represented to be a country girl a lot of her earlier songs are more country where as this song leans over more to the pop genre. However i wanted to keep the representation the same and I wanted to express the fact that she is country singer as well as pop as it widens the fans. The dress is very country and to emphasis this even more i chose country boots to emphasis the representation of a country girl. The costume is red; red in media language connotes the idea of love and passion. The song is about falling in and out of ove therefore the costume works well with the lyrics and represents her innocence in love. The dress is also very yellow which emphasis happiness, which in parts of the song she is because she feels free of the misery he puts her through and sometimes in the song she is happy when she thinks of old memories. The dress also makes her stand out to the audience which is also an important factor it is bright and colourful and expresses the idea of energy which is what the audience like about the performance.
This dress is what I chose for the bridge of the song. I have taken many shots for the bridge but none that I really like. My idea is to keep the same costume but the location keeps changing. My next idea is to decorate a room with fairy lights hanging down from the ceiling then the artist sings as she walks though the lit up room. I like the dress because it fits with the certain part of music. The bridge is the most emotional part of the song. It's where the music slows down to a steady beat then builds back up. It is important as it's where the artist stands up for her to overcome the relationship. I wanted a dress the reflected her mood in the song and at this particular part the mood was angry. Annoyed and upset about her previous relationship. So i chose a simple black dress which reflects this mood however still makes the performer look good. The colour also contrasts with her light hair which makes her stand out more to the camera which works really nicely.

Progress
My filming has been going veru successful i have filmed two scenes from my video however some changes and re-shoots need to be made so i will do them tonight. I am also filming scene 3 of my video tonight. Photos of my filming will shortly be followed.
Visual Audience Profile
Here is a visual format of my audience profile. Firstly i started with Taylor Swifts appearence in her music videos. I started with this because i wanted to show how her appearence effects the audience and how the audience can effect her appearence. In her videos you can see how she is presented as 'normal' there is no striking celebrity effect in these images. The audience can reflect on this positively because it makes them feel asif they are like the artist. The audience can imagine themselves in the same situation as Taylor Swift and they feel connected with her because they can afford clothing similar to hers and become like her. I also posted sites that relate to the audiences you would expect them to use these websites because they are ways that Taylor Swift and them can connect over the internet and feel closer to their favourate artist. The brands also help the audience relate to Taylor because they are able to buy clothing similar to her. Taylors look is very casual which she will not change because the audience like to feel similar and close to the artist.
Her C.D's over the years.
You can see how the album covers all stay very similar and 'casual' throughout the whole of her time. The only cover that changed drastically is speak now this is because the cover was all about growing up and taking the next step in life. She is spinning her dress almost to cover the front of her album and turn around on her 'teenage' years. The albums are aimed at teenage girls mainly from 14-24 the albums differentiate on age. The older albums would aim at older audiences whereas the younger albums are aimed at younger girls entering their first relationships and experiencing first heartbreaks whereas the newest album is all about growing up and taking the next step in young adulthood.

Mry Actress
Here is an image of my actress (Abbie) who is going to play the part of Taylor Swift. I chose this person because she fit the look of taylor swift, the blonde hair connotes innocence which is an important part of the sequence. I chose Abbie because she is a reliable person and available when i want to film. She does not go to wyke she lives nearby me and attends Withernsea High School this is more suitable because it means she is closer to pick up and take to locations. She is studying Dance which makes her a confident and comfortable performer which will reflect in my video. It is also a great exerience for Abbie because she wishes to study dance into the future and she can use the video to show her ability to fit different styles and shows she is comfortable infront of the camera.

Synopsis
The artist replays through her relationship with her ex boyfriend
from the beginning it shows in various numbers of medium shots and close ups
how happy they were and late on in the music video it shows them arguing and
the relationship breaking down at the end of the video we see how her
performance has gone from stronger to weaker connoting how the relationship and
emotion has effected her personal behaviour. At the end of the video she burns
a book that contains their past and present and afterwards a close up of her
smiling is shown to finish the video to express her freedom and happiness of
being able to move on.
Media Anamatic
Here is the changed anamatic without the song this is because i wanted to show how lingering my shots where and that these are how short the shots should be however the anamatic is only 2:19 long. In order to create shots to fit with my music video i created a new storyboard to show the changes and developments of my creative project.

Evaluation Of Re-creation Of Lucy Rose Video
The task was
to re-create a 30 second sequence from and existing music video. We had to do
the task in Groups. In my group there was me, Mark, Kate, Charlotte and Dave.
We all knew each other so it was easy to get along and organise planning within
the group. We all had allocated roles:
Charlotte
|
Filming
|
Dave
|
Director
|
Harriet
|
Edit
|
Mark
|
Producer
|
Kate
|
Editor
|
Our first
problem was that the storyboards we created over the summer where all too hard
to film in the college. This is because mine was set in an old shack in a
forest and Dave and Marks where set on a boat. To resolve this whilst everyone
else was working on their production; we had to sit together and create a new
idea. After the lesson we had chosen the song and I decided that I would create
the storyboard for us all to follow. Which was a good idea, because we used
this to help find locations and get the composition of the shot correct.
We chose
Charlotte to be in our 30 second sequence because she was already in our group
meaning that we knew she was reliable and would turn up to the lesson so that
we could film. She was also the most familiar with the song chose because that
is what she listened to. Music can affect the way you dress and the way you
look you inspire to be like your favourite artist so you want to appear like
them. In this case Charlotte did dress a lot like her and her hair was very
similar and natural so she fit the sequence really well.
We organised
to shoot in our lesson times and then we would edit in our study periods. This
worked really well we managed to get the filming done and have plenty of time
for editing. The film locations we found in or around college and they were
very similar. One shot was done from a balcony and we managed to get access to
one in the college. The shot by shot comparison I did proves how similar our
shots where I think it was a really good achievement.
One location
which was difficult to find was the mid-shot of Lucy Rose in a building with an
old fashioned window. We didn’t have any in college like that so we made one.
We used the classroom in oak 38 then stuck masking tape on the window to create
the correct pattern, the backlight then turned the masking tape black on the
camera and they looked like real window frames. The backlight however became
difficult as it turned Charlotte into a black figure and you could not make out
anything else. To solve this problem we used the big lights and put them up in
oak 38. At first we just had one light we tried it from all different angles
and positions but we still couldn’t achieve the shot we wanted, Charlotte was
still just a dark figure. We then tried the shot with another light and placed
each light to each side of Charlotte. Here we got what we wanted from the shot
we was able to see her and get the background dark and highlight her in the end
it turned out to be the best shot we created.
Something we
did find difficult was lip-syncing. When we was shooting the film we followed
the storyboard and thought it was all going correcting the lip-syncing looked
perfect. However in the song the artist repeats the same bits of the song just
in different tempos and we realised we had recorded the same tempo start for a
numerous of shots. The problem occurred when we put the footage onto the
editing suite and we didn’t have enough time to go and re-shoot so we had to
work with what we had. To try and solve the problem we increased the tempo of
the shot this improved it slightly however it was still not perfect. It made us
realise that we need to plan more effectively in our final piece and make sure
we had the correct parts to the song.
Overall I think
that the task set provided us with some great new skills. At the beginning of
the task we didn’t have much filming experience or how to construct a music
video piece now I am confident that I will be able to create my own music video
and be able to direct, produce and edit my piece. The task has given me great
confidence and now I can’t wait to produce my own music video.
Shot By Shot Comparison

Editing
We have edited half of our music video today the first half
has ran really smoothly and the lip syncing matches, our problem is that the
other half of the video is not in time, we have tried slowing down and speeding
up the pace of the shot however we can’t get it perfect, this is because when
we shot the video she was singing the same line but at the wrong time of the
song. This is something I need to take ahead with me when planning my own music
video. Another problem is the composition of the Shots they change and should
all be centre framed this is something else I need to look into and plan to do
some research on composition so I can achieve the best in my music video.

Finishing Filming.
Our filming ran overtime we had planned to finished by
5/10/12 but it didn’t happen the shots had took us longer than we planned and
we did each shot 3 times to make sure that we had the perfect shot. We now have
only 2 shots left to film so we plan to have them done by 8/10/12 so that we
can start editing next week.

Problem with Shot 8.
Problems With Shot 8:
Our problem with shot 8 was that it was in an old fashioned convertible
car, we couldn’t get hold of the car and none of us could drive so arrangements
had to be made. We decided to change the shot to a tracking shot from the front
of Charlotte it just replaces the shot and makes the filming easier, we don’t think
that it will change the video drastically.

Locations
Location:
Shot 1: Pond near Wilson
Shot 2,6 and 11: Bricknell Avenue
Shot 3 and 12: Oak 36
Shot 4 and 9: Outside college grounds near the gate.
Shot 5 and 10: Balcony Oak
Shot 7 and 8: Bricknell Avenue
Actress
We chose Charlotte to perform in our music video because she
was part of our group so we knew we could rely on her to come to the lesson and
shoot it for us. She also knew the song really well which was an advantage to
us because she would be able to get the lip-syncing better. She also fits the style of music better because it's the type of music she listens to and music has an influence on us which makes us dress and appear like their 'role model' and it creates a steryotype and Charlotte fits this steryotype better than anyone else.

Problems with our storyboard.
Our group all had done music videos that where situated in
places that we wouldn’t be able to get to. Marks were set on a boat along with Dave’s
and Mine was in forest. So to be able to
reconstruct the video we needed to find a video to use and create a new
storyboard. We chose Lucy Rose middle of the bed because we were able to reach
similar settings and create a similar piece. The song also contained
lip-syncing which gave us the experience to work with this in the editing
suite.
Planning
We have been set a task to reconstruct 30 seconds of an existing
music video. The task is to be done in groups there are 5 people in our group.
We have planned to be filming by the 02/10/12 and finish filming by the 5/10/12
which will leave us 3 media lessons and our spare time to edit the music video.
The reason we have done it like this is because we all want to gain experience
using the camera and editing, 2 of us already knew how to edit so it was fair
that we showed them how to use the machines and everyone got a chance to
experience filming and editing.

Ronan - Taylor Swift - Lyrics - NEW SONG 2012 "STAND UP TO CANCER"
This video has no official music video to it, just by listeing to the song what would you expect to see?
Look through the blog watch the other Taylor Swift Video, in any way can you see a similarity through what you imagined and the real music video?
If not, in what way was your imagination different?
Through looking at the images, lyrics and videos can you explain what you think the theme of Taylor Swifts songs are based upon?
Audience Questions
Long were the nights when my days once revolved around you
Counting my footsteps praying the floor won't fall through again
And my mother accused me of losing my mind
But I swore I was fine
You paint me a blue sky and go back and turn it to rain
And I lived in your chess game, but you changed the rules everyday
Wondering which version of you I might get on the phone tonight
Well, I stopped picking up and this song is to let you know why
Dear John, I see it all now that you're gone
Don't think I was too young to be messed with?
The girl in the dress cried the whole way home
I should've known
Well, maybe it's just me and my blind optimism to blame
Or maybe it's you and your sick need to give love then take it away
And you'll add my name to your long list of traitors who don't understand
And I'll look back and regret how I ignored when they said run as fast as you can
Dear John, I see it all now that you're gone
Don't you think I was too young to be messed with?
The girl in the dress cried the whole way home
Dear John, I see it all now it was wrong
Don't you think nineteen's too young to be played with?
Your dark twisted games when I loved you so
I should've known
You are an expert at sorry and keeping lines blurry
Never impressed by me acing your tests
All the girls that you've run dry have tired, lifeless eyes'
Cause you've burn them out
But I took your matches before fire could catch me
So don't look nowI'm shining like fireworks over
Your sad, empty town
Looking at these lyrics explain how they make you feel.
What do you exoect the genre of the song to be?
How do you imagine the artist to look?
What would you expect to see in the music video?
A
B
C
Reflecting on the lyrics, and looking at items A, B and C how would you expect the artist to appear?
Without using the items how would you personally think the artist should look?
Do you think that there could be multiples of looks and styles in the video?
If not explain your reasons why.
